Mrs. Emily Corcoran Kastnor is one of the only reasons ive ever decided to be as involved with music as i am today. Emily has done nothing but encourage the kids and even help them outside of music means. Replacing someone who has been involved in the music program for almost 10 years would be a travesty considering shes devoted more than her fare share of time helping and guiding the youth of not only my generation, but plenty of others to do right and follow a music career or any career as a matter of fact. Emily loves her job and loves everyone of her students and removing her from such a position would tarnish North Arlington Highschools music program. Please let Emily continute with her position as Chorus director, because no one will do the job that shes done. Thank you.

Wow I'm adulting and signing petitions. Seriously though as someone going into musical theater for college, band choir and orchestra have shaped my life and I loved every minute of it. It's ignorant to take it away just for not enough money. You wouldn't take away sports first. It's always music, and it's seriously unfair.

Please keep her. My daughter is a former student and Emily Corcoran was a great teacher. An excellent role model.she lives for these kids. I'll never forget the day they called an ambulance for my daughter because she couldn't breathe.Emily stayed by her side the whole time and worked with her to breathe. I will always thank her and love her for that. Please don't make the mistake of losing her.

Mrs. Emily Corcoran-Kastner has been a friend an colleague for more than 10 years. I have watched her career and passion for teaching grow over the years (from a distance). There are many good teachers, but a great teacher lives to see her students grow. Mrs. Kastner is one of those teachers.
In addition, as a music teacher myself, those in charge are doing a disservice to the students who participate and strive for excellence in Mrs. Corcoran-Kastners choral program. Choral music is an art form that teaches across subject areas. It encourages language study and reading. Piece study provides gateways into history and world events. In addition music of any form is the perfect outlet for any student at any level.
Dismantling this program and losing such an incredible teacher should not be acceptable.

Not all musicians are able to teach- Mrs Emily Corcoran-Kastner is not only a very talented performer, but she also has the gift of teaching. She has the gift of being able to share her knowledge and passion for music. Please do not cut teachers from Music's programs. They give the students that aren't athletes or academics a place to belong.

Mrs. Cocoran was one of the most influential people during my entire music career. When I was in middle school, she kept the spark for pursuing my passion for music going, and encouraged me to pursue improving myself- something not everyone is good at doing. She even introduced me to my now regular private trombone teacher who has changed my life.
Mrs. Corcoran has proven to be an important figure in many lives. Not just band lives, but also the amazing chorus group she has built up in the high school. Removing her from that as well would be equally as devastating.
Taking Mrs. Corcoran away from Either of these things is a terrible mistake.
If this amount of people are going to go out of their way to make a petition and sign it to react to the mess the school is making, CLEARLY the school is doing something wrong.
Listen to the community.

Mrs. Kastner has done a lot for us. She should stay in the middle school and high school forever. Even though I'm in 6th grade she made me love my instrument more then ever. I always wanna be at practice and I feel really bad if I didn't. Mrs. Kastner inspired me to keep singing and playing my instrument. She is my favorite teacher in the world. She done everything for us and the students before us. Mrs. Kastner should stay!

Mrs. Corcoran-Kastner was a great teacher both in the middle and high school. She worked so hard and put in so much extra time for the marching band, band & chorus in addition to the drama club. Do not make her move, it would be a negative impact on the district!!

As an educator of middle school students, I am certain that removing the choral music program out of the middle and high school and moving Ms. Corcoran-Kastner will negatively effect the middle and high school students in North Arlington. Mrs. Corcoran-Kastner is a dedicated, caring and responsible music educator. She has enabled her students to positively express themselves, through music, by providing them with a solid education, confidence, purpose and direction. The North Arlington School District must realize that offering a varied curriculum in both academics and the arts will best prepare young people with varied learning styles and abilities opportunities for a successful future. Mrs. Corcoran-Kastner must be allowed to continue in her current position as band and choral teacher in the middle and high school as this is in the best interest of all students and the school system.

Music is an important way for students to destress. It's one of the few ways many students feel they can express themselves. It's a way for students to feel proud and like they've accomplished something. Students deserve their music programs.
