Ms. Corcoran has been an amazing teacher for both Middle School and High School' students. Not having her as part of the music department would be devastating. Her musical knowledge and overall support to our kids is an instrumental piece to our kids success. Please keep her where she's at now.

Cut to part-time? Is it a financial issue? Meaning they needed to cut in the budget for next year? If so, may I suggest, oh I don't know - don't pay someone learning to be a Business Administrator while you are paying your current BA almost $200K?! Maybe don't hire an AP/AR clerk at a starting salary of $75k! I could go on and on. Perhaps I will....stay tuned.

As a mother of a 6th grader in the Middle School, we are heart broken over this news. My daughter loves going to chorus once a week, loves seeing Mrs. Kastner in the lunch room. What people may not understand about Emily is that for my daughter and for many other students she is not just a teacher but a friend, a confidant, someone who not only inspires students but also makes them feel safe and that they can tell her anything. This would be a terrible loss for so many students. We stand with you Emily!! ❤❤#keepcorky

Performing ensembles are as vital to a strong music curriculum as labs are vital to a strong science curriculum. It teaches countless skills as well as applying everything students have learned in those elementary music classes. I don't know Mrs. Corcoran-Kastner, but I do know the importance of music in the schools. Keep the program and keep the teacher who has built it to what it is!

Mrs. Kastner is a vital part of North Arlington Middle school and North Arlington High School Music Departments. She is extremely dedicated to all her students in both schools. To lose her from these programs, and replace her with the other teachers the Board is considering, would mean the end of these programs in both schools. Mrs. Kastner is the reason that these programs in both schools have grown to what they are, and are as amazing as they are. All her hard work and dedication, has been proven time and time again with the wonderful concerts that the band's and choruses put on.
My daughter, a freshman in the high school, couldn't wait to get to the high school to have Mrs. Kastner for chorus, and she absolutely loves it. She had tried band in elementary school, only for her efforts to be discouraged by the teacher. In middle school, she did chorus for a year and a half, again only to be discouraged by that teacher as well, along with many other students. You cannot just yell and tell a student they're doing something wrong, you need to teach them how to do it right as with any subject. Mrs. Kastner does just that with all her students in all her programs, and it shows in that all her students thrive in their chosen group whether band or chorus. Mrs. Kastner encourages her students each and every day, and brings out the best in all of them. It is because of her caring, support, encouragement, and dedication that her students love her so much and want to always do their best for her. To take that, and her, away from these students would be a huge detriment to all involved. Contrary to popular belief, not all students want to be involved in some kind of sports. For a lot of students, their passion is music, and for a good portion of those students their passion is singing. It would be absolutely horrible for these students in the High School to lose their chorus program, and to lose Mrs. Kastner. She is an extremely hard working and talented teacher, and that ta
