What reason does the administration have for wanting to replace such a wonderful coach?

As a parent, I know it's hard to find good and caring Coaches. Please take the students' recommendations seriously and take into consideration that esprit de corps is a very strong motivator. Coach James promotes this among his athletes and the team is stronger for it. Give the students the voice you encourage them to have. This is a good thing and Coach James is a good coach.

I took XC and Winter Track with the intention to improve, not to compete. I wasn't much of an athlete, and Coach James understood that. He has helped me shave my mile time by a whole MINUTE and supported me along the way. This is the making of a good coach and nobody knows at this point whether any new coach can be as supportive as Coach James.

Coach James has been an amazing track coach here since well before I was born. He is caring and does all in his power to help us reach our potential. He has done so much for TJ track. He should be able to coach as long as he wants to, without the feeling of being pushed out by administration.

Agree. The athletes should have a say in who coaches their team, and it is foolish for administration to think otherwise.

Coach James is a great P.E. teacher and coach. It's sad that he has to go as a teacher, but we need to do whatever we can to keep him as a coach. You don't find 31 years of experience on the streets. That being said, Rusty Hodges needs to go. That dude does not care about TJ athletics at all. He didn't care enough to turn in the turf field design on time, so we don't have turf which would be useful for so many sports and events for TJ. And now he wants to get rid of our coach. If anyone should go it should be Rusty. #firethedumbass #keepJames

Coach James is kind, caring and dedicated. It would be a shame if we were to lose him right before a (very potentially) states winning season.

This shouldn't even be a discussion. Coach James should be allowed to continue coaching.

Having coached with Jeff, I know his passion and dedication to T.J. track is unparalleled. To lose him would be a detriment to the amazing T.J. community!

Coach James made my track & cross country experiences more interesting every day. He always made me feel a part of the team, even when I really wasn't. He is the life force of one of our most successful sports programs and a true asset to the TJ community.

Though I never actually joined XC or Track, Coach James was always supportive in PE. He encouraged me to join track my sophomore year, but I neglected to do so. Now, with my senior year coming, I hope to be able to do XC or Track, and to finally be able to approach Coach James's again.

I, though a sprinter, know Coach James as an all around coach... And I can honestly say his knowledge about EVERY event together is remarkable; you don't get this kind of wisdom from just anyone. Just from a vaulter standpoint, even, I mean.... Look, Coach James is soley responsible for every single pole vaulter we've ever trained. I speak for all of them when I say not only his coaching abilities in the event are superb, but his support and loyalty to the team, especially at meets, is unmatchable. There have been times where I have broken down crying about my performance, where other coaches would scream at their athletes and tell them to suck it up, that Coach James instead stuck it out with me and got me into top shape for the next meet. Without his guidance, I wouldn't have broken any of my personal records, let alone set one. He is indeed an irreplaceable asset to the team and, if he is willing to grace us with his leadership, should stay and coach future generations of track superstars to be. At a school like TJ, where homework and tests are priority to most, the family he is able to create at T&F is able to bring athletes out every day and meet days for workouts, drills, and victory. That's something to keep.
