Revitalize Glencoe. Let these people run their business! Who is at the helm of these BAD decisions that continue to plague our village? Impeach then!!!!

I love Glencoe, but the one thing it doesn't have enough of is restaurants! Why deny Cibo the right to fill an obvious need? Why deny residents a wonderful place to dine and have a glass of wine?

In thinking about this more, the Glencoe Village President and Liquor License Commissioner insulted the residents of Glencoe (and those who patronize our restaurants) because in the article (see below) he doesn't feel we are mature enough to consume alcohol and make responsible decisions. I guess we need the Big Bad Glencoe Code to keep us immature adults in line. Interesting that the restaurants of Glencoe have more discretion to serve liquor (with a license) than the patrons have discretion to serve themselves under this B.S. reason to not allow BYOB. (Btw I live in Glencoe not Winnetka as the poll states). http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/glencoe/news/ct-gln-village-board-tll-0723-2-20150721-story.html

I grew up in glencoe and moved my young family home a few years ago to this great community. We need reasons to come together and nothing brings people together more than great food. Cibo is a critical establishment to our community and it is run by good, honest, ethical people that have the right to give their business the best run they can. Thank you for making reasonable compromises in the short term and proper decisions in the long run. Cibo deserves its fair shot!

No, no, no, no, no! Please do NOT let this restaurant close due to a Village restriction counter to consumer desires. As noted in last August's Glencoe News headline, "Glencoe residents have (an) appetite for new restaurants" and Cibo has provided a nice complement to the existing options in town. According to the July 16th Village Board agenda, there appear to be 15 existing liquor licenses in town. I understand that the Village liquor ordinance is currently under review, but while such revisions are pending, it seems that the law as it currently is written should be applied using the same standard as for the existing 15 licensees. Denying Cibo a liquor license without clear distinction between it and other establishments who have previously been awarded a license (other than inopportune timing) and the right to BYOB seems capricious at best. Glencoe residents should not have to travel to Winnetka or Highland Park to dine and spend our food and beverage dollars when we have a Glencoe-sited, Glencoe resident-owned option within easy walking/biking distance. Yes, I love the Guildhall and Little Red Hen, but Cibo provides an alternative in price point, cuisine, atmosphere, and just plain much needed capacity at the dinner hour. I have watched sadly as the number of empty storefronts has increased in Hubbard Woods over the last two years. Glencoe is certainly not immune to this trend. Every small business closure is another step down the slippery slope towards a dying downtown. Part of why our family chose to live in Glencoe is that we love small towns and a key part of a thriving small town is businesses that give local residents a destination to drive traffic into town. Every time a Glencoe resident dines outside of Glencoe, it's an opportunity for them to become acquainted with (and potentially loyal to) shops and businesses outside of Glencoe. I would urgently but respectfully ask the Village to please reconsider their stance and give Cibo a fair ch

The Village needs to support local businesses. This is a great restaurant built by local residents. They deserve our support.

I am certain we don't want another empty storefront in Glencoe. It's just a bad idea to make being a bail was owner in glencoe so difficult. Makes no sense whatsoever.
