Research shows that students who participate in music are more likely to be successful in the postsecondary setting as well as in their chosen careers. Do not discredit the value of music education in a child's life.

The study of the arts and humanities develops compassion and makes us more human. The arts make us more civilized as human beings. Continue work to keep the program funded.

I was in choir from 2nd grade to my Sr year of high school
Music made a big impact on my success as a student. Students who participate in music programs are more likely to succeed in math and science courses and consistanly report a more positive experience in their school day with reduced stress and increased confidence. Keep the choir ❤

Choir was life changing for me. It gav me the confidence to be in front of large groups of people. Taking away choir you might as well get rid of all of the arts as a whole. Band, Drama, color guard, jazz band, etc. It's these arts that give students a passion for something. Taking these away would harm the students more than help them.

The Arts is various forms are critical to student's development. It is short-sighted for the Arts to always be the first on the budgetary chopping block.

Even though I do not live in Corydon, I think it is an awful move to not adequately fund a high school choir. But sadly today the arts are the first programs to be gutted. I have many friends in Corydon whose children and grandchildren would be affected by this move.

I was involved in the CCHS choir program, and unfortunately, due to scheduling, I had to drop out of the class. Music is a love of mine, and the fine arts department has been struggling to keep a foothold at CCHS. Only recently, because of our band having success in the past few seasons, have we been taken seriously. It is time for the choir program to be given that same chance!

Singing in the advanced choir in high school changed my life. I became a very serious musician and have pursued studying music every since I graduated. If it wasn't for my exposure to music in high school, I never would have been able to develop and nurture my love for singing.
