I hope higher authority (church, state, etc.) can see the harms of eliminating these valuable courses and do something to help - it's a real-world skill we'll actually use!

West has an excellent, diverse language program and taking Chinese away does nothing for the school

I am a West High alumna. I did not take Chinese while there, but I’m glad that it was offered as it’s one of the most-spoken languages globally. When I have kids I want them to have the opportunity to learn non-European languages too.

There is no way we’re gonna let them get rid of Chinese classes because of this stupid tariff war.

My friend was able to study abroad in Taiwan because she learned Chinese at West High. Don’t limit the opportunities of your students.

Language is important to learn for students because it helps students understand diversity and helps students interact with their interests and others when they grow up.
