The Chinese language program attracts high quality students to west and is a bright spot in the curriculum, and serves a critical need to position our states students to compete in a global and competitive landscape. It should be nurtured not eliminated.

This is an international world and China is one of the largest countries in the world. Most of us don't agree with its policies but we do have to deal with it internationally. Having people who speak Chinese would be helpful.
