Keep Cherrydale Library Open

Save the Cherrydale Library. It wont destroy the county to preserve a bit of history. Unlike Fire Station 8... Why not keep the property as is? You could make it a particular branch focused toward k-middle school activities and subjects. The library being sandwiched IN PROXIMAL WALKING DISTANCE of several schools and churches with educational programs. Let it be designed for that neighborhood's immediate need yet be open to all. THAT is a solution of the respect with which people want their community treated by those in power to oversee, who probably do not reside there.

Libraries are essential, both for educational purposes and as community "third places." Cherrydale neighborhood needs access to a local library. It is absurd what items are being proposed as budget cuts this in such a prosperous county that supposedly has "values" that should support such institutions and the community-building they bring.

Cherrydale library is a gem. Students come there after school, babies and toddlers attend storytime, and I love the convenience and small size. It’s easy to park or walk to, and it’s a piece of Arlington history.

I grew up going to this library. Arlington kids today should have the same opportunity.

I have been going to this library since I was a kid, and now my daughter loves going there too. We somehow have $4 million to spend on the traffic circle up on Military that so far has just made the intersection worse every time they do anything. We have money for a library that is a big part of the community.

The library is a critical part of the community. Central library is not sufficient to service the demand.

We love Cherrydale Library. It’s peaceful, calm, and the kids love playing there.

Please don’t close the Cherrydale branch! It’s a great library with so much charm. Both my sons have enjoyed story times there as babies.

Hopefully some means can be found to sustain this branch. Or at least some useful function in the facility that allows it to remain an operational branch of the library system.

My family is a third Arlington generation family that has lived in the Donaldson Run/Cherrydale neighborhood since 1969 and enjoyed the many services this small community library offers. My parents took me here, I took my young children here and I continue to use the services as an adult with my grown children. We must protect this beautiful, treasured library. Cherrydale has been a source of many fine memories to not only my family but many in the community. I think 22207 can afford this. Please don't take our Cherrydale library away. It a critical resource for many in the community--let's not cut back on the reading and resources this gem provides to many learners in our community.

I recently bought a house in Cherrydale, and one of the things I looked for was a library that was within walking distance. It was the first place I visited to become an active member of my community. Please don’t shut it down.
