How about saving money and reducing the obsession with street narrowing and eliminating traffic lanes?

Libraries are an important resource that provide a variety of benefits that far exceed their costs. The community will be far better served by keeping the library open than saving a small amount of money with no firm plans for what to do with it.

Please don’t close Cherrydale Library! I have used and enjoyed it and I have family members who use the library on a nearly weekly basis. If you need to cut other funding to keep the library open, please cut spending on the police.

While I don’t live in the area anymore, I frequently went to the library after school with my mother and siblings to do homework and read. It’s a staple of the community and an irreplaceable store of physical knowledge

My kids make walks to the Cherrydale library to check out books a part of most weeks. I’m heartbroken to see the board recommending closure. It’s an integral part of our community.

The library is conveniently located in the heart of a thriving neighborhood community, within walking distance of both a number of apartment and condo buildings as well as single family homes. If saving money is an issue, there must be other less disruptive ways to cut the County budget.

The Cherrydale Library is a focal point of the community, treasured by neighbors and visitors alike. It serves not only as a library, but also as a gathering place and a venue for local arts and community connection. While I understand the county’s budget challenges, closing this library would create a disproportionate loss in access and community value relative to the modest cost savings. In an era when so much is becoming generic and online, preserving unique, walkable spaces like this is a high-value investment in the community. I strongly urge the county to keep the Cherrydale Library open.

Our children use this library all the time. It would be a huge loss.
