I love the Cherrydale branch. It's the closest branch to me, and not owning a car, that makes a huge difference. I go there often to study for my online degree. It's different and quieter and feels safer than Central. The staff has been amazing to me.

I urge the county to keep the Cherrydale library open! It is a historic, architectural, and cultural landmark that serves a unique area of residents, north of Langston blvd. It is not interchangeable with Central library. The cost savings of closing Cherrydale library would be insignificant whereas the impact of closure would be far greater to the community. The surveys underlying the Cherrydale Neighborhood Conservation Plan have shown an overwhelming amount of support for keeping this library!

The small size of Cherrydale Library is part of what makes it preferable to the parents of young children over Central Library. Central Library and Cherrydale Library are not interchangeable. Cherrydale Library is an after-school resource for students at Dorothy Hamm Middle School, located just around the corner from the library.
Our library offers free entertainment for kids and adults.
It offers exhibit space for local artists and photographers. Please keep Cherrydale Library open!

This is a historical site and needs to be preserved. Our community will greatly suffer if we lose one of the few public places to gather, find books and encourage children to read.
