Keep Cherrydale Library Open

Why is Cherrydale being targeted? How much will the planned action save? What about getting more taxes from developers who just clearcut the lots, build enormous, hideous houses, and move on the the next aesthetic and environmental abomination?

County does so freaking little for Cherrydale and Maywood already! leave our library alone!

Don’t close Cherrydale Library. I was just there today. Duh

Keep sanity. Keep the community. Keep the library open. Encourage young minds to learn. Prioritize the county budget to support healthy living, which includes a local, public library.

Whoever condones getting rid of Cherrydale Library, a neighborhood treasure, is not a good steward of what makes our community special.

Please keep the library open. It brings great benefit to me and my family.

The County proposal to close Cherrydale Library comes after years of proposals to do the same being rejected as being meritless. This is no different. Please stop degrading through penny-pinching what makes Arlington residential neighborhoods so special: High quality of life at an affordable cost to taxpayers. At a time when facts and culture are under attack, closing a library also sends a terrible message to the generation. Let’s instead ensure that our legacy supports families, and helps keep our community intellectually curious and well informed. Keep Cherrydale Library open.

Cherrydale is the only walkable library for many Arlington neighborhoods, including for Dorothy Hamm and Taylor students. Are n’t we trying to be car-free as much as possible?And parking at Central Library is already extremely difficult, given that non-library users are permitted to park without consequence.

This library is one of those unheralded examples of what makes Arlington the special place that it is.

The library is an important resource for Arlington and contributes to creating a desirable place to live.

The cost to maintain the Cherrydale Library is small; its value to North Arlington is large. Please continue to fund this important service at its current level.

Cherrydale Library has meant a lot to my family and our community. It’s small size and intimacy make it an important space for kids with sensory challenges as well. Please keep it open

It seems avery few years, we have to rally to protect our wondeful, neighborhood Cherrydale library. I strongly oppose closing this library, again.

I regularly attend Art on the Mend at the Cherrydale library. It is just one of many event at the library building community and sustainability. Do not close the library!

The amount of money to be saved by closing Cherrydale is a drop in the budget bucket. It's a disgrace that the County is embarrassing itself by, once again, attempting to close a library branch that has enormous public support that has remained steady over decades!

I find it hard to believe that closing a beloved neighborhood library is going to solve our budget woes. Leave Cherrydale Library alone and find a different place to cut spending.
