Keep Cherrydale Library Open

As an Arlington business owner this is infuriating.

This is another example of the failure of Arlington County to protect and maintain the quality of life here.

Please keep the library open. It is a wonderful place for Arlington families. Is the mother of five children we spent a lot of time at the library when they were you.ng. My children particularly enjoyed going to story hour in their pajamas. It helped to inspire them to be readers. When the kids got older, they would often get off the school bus at the library so they could do their homework in a quiet space. It is things like this library (and the sports programs, for example, at Barcroft) that make Arlington such a desirable place to live. The county seems to be trying to get rid of the things that make Arlington so desirable. Instead of cutting these programs and facilities we should be investing in them and creating more. There’s plenty of other waste that could be cut. How about the two-year project at Military Road and Nellie Custis. I would much rather have programs for the families then put all that money into a traffic circle. We could’ve just left the stop sign.

Libraries are community centers essential for supporting the needs of our children and neighbors

Do not close our library! Our community needs this resource for our families!!!!

We need very badly Charidale library for our community.

I am extremely disheartened that Arlington -- a county that prides itself on access for all -- is considering shutting down a critical community resource to save negligible amounts of money. This is a disgrace and a total misuse of taxpayer funds if this is how the county plans to manage our money.

Cherrydale Library has been a weekly visit for over 20 years. It is always full of families, readers and students studying. Please keep this branch open!

Please support the important institutions and services like this in our community that are actually for us and what our tax dollars should be used for.

Keep the library open for all the reasons cited by others. It's a critical community resource that needs to be preserved.

What a disgrace

This branch is integral to the Cherrydale, Waverly Hills, Donalson Run, and all communities. It would be a wasteful move and tragic loss for you to close it down.

This is a hugely important service in our community.

we love this library & go there all the time! It is an Arlington institution & provides are rare sense of community

I love that little library and have all my hold books sent there! Plus, my now 6 ft tall high schooler crawled after story time in that library. I love the place.

Often can’t find parking at Central Library so I use the Cherrydale branch, which always accommodates!

We should keep libraries to serve the community and stop other unnecessary projects like the Military Rd. and Nellie Curtis circle.

Please don't close it!
