My DHMS middle schoolers go to Cherrydale library to study and do homework after school. They love the community activities, including hot chocolate events!

Libraries are needed now more than ever, especially for the young! I'd rather have empty potholes than empty bookshelves!

The library serves as meeting place for residents of all ages! My 80+ year old, teenage, and toddler neighbors all use the resources and facilities found at Cherrydale Library!

I cannot imagine a library being closed down. This is not acceptable here in Arlington!

It is well used and loved. If you want kids off screens you need to offer books snd programs to engage them.

The library is SO important--especially for kids who attend the schools just a few blocks away (e.g., St. Agnes, Dorothy Hamm, Taylor)

This library is a community gem. It's community programs and incredible staff have made this an accessible and welcoming space even as many of those have disappeared. Closing it would be a huge loss.

I have been going here since 1965 and in no way should this be torn down. I pay so much in real estate taxes there’s no excuse why this can’t remain open.

Cherrydale Library is not just a library for our community, as critical as libraries are. It is a third space, a gathering place, an access point to resources that may not be otherwise available. A true community space. When people are more separate, apart and alone, why on earth would Arlington County think to close a place where people from all walks of life come together? I support the continued use of county resources to ensure its viability.

our small, historic libraries are an important part of what keeps Arlington a charming community instead of just a place to live.

At a time of creeping authoritarianism, Arlington County should not be in the business of closing down community gathering places that support free speech and access to information. I would expect this kind of move from the current White House but not Arlington. Find the cuts elsewhere or raise our taxes.
