This library should not close! It’s amazing and so convenient! It’s also a good home for people that don’t have one

We treasure Cherrydale Library and use it frequently. County resources should not be limited to the Rosslyn-Ballston corridor. Neighborhoods further removed from that corridor are still deserving of walkable resources. Cherrydale Library is an important public facility for residents in these neighborhoods.

My husband and I just moved to the neighborhood with our 9 month old daughter. One of the things that we were most excited about for our new house was that we would be walking distance to Cherrydale Library. It is a community treasure and we were so excited to share it with our daughter when she was old enough. Please do not take that away from her (and everyone else).

In this climate of rising fascist and authoritarian political movements, I think closing a library is sending the wrong message to residents of Arlington. Democracy wins when we have libraries. It's also disturbing that this is small and it is deemed not worth saving. There must be other ways of saving money.

I worked as a nanny for over 10 years. Libraries has been the best places to visit with my kids all year round! Safe places with nice activities and wonderful books for children. Don't closed safe spaces for children when they most need it just to "saved money". That's truly evil! They need their library.
