A foundational part of the community. Please consider keeping the library open for all to use and enjoy.

This makes almost no economic sense in terms of budget impact and cost effectiveness and will have a significant negative impact on the surrounding community. This facility helps build individual community cohesiveness, at a time when that attribute is so important.

I grew up going to this library! Its an arlington landmark that enhances cherrydale. Please keep it open. It is a historical site and I enjoy going there for various reasons. My children enjoy it as well.

I strongly oppose closing the Cherrydale library. It has been an integral part of my children’s upbringing. For them, it was a place where curiosity was sparked and habits of learning were formed. It continues to be a resource I rely on regularly, not just for books, but a quiet space and center for community programming. Losing it would mean losing far more than a building; it would mean losing a vital piece of our neighborhood’s foundation.

Cherrydale Library is an important institution in our community and delivers much at very low cost. Furthermore, the proposal to close the library was made without any opportunity for public comment, contrary to the spirit of Arlington’s usual civic engagement. As an Arlington citizen and proud patron of Cherrydale Library, I urge you to keep it open for the good of the community.

Libraries are among the few places that belong equally to everyone. Cherrydale is a beloved neighborhood institution and an essential resource for our community. It would be a profound loss to see it disappear.

This library was instrumental in my love of reading. I have been walking to the this library since I first learned how to read at least twice a week to get piles of books. This library holds classes that are instrumental in the community, as I personally have attended the children’s reading hours.

This library builds community for the young and old. Providing a place for new readers to visit, school students at DHMS and Taylor to do work after school, and is a connector to the broader Arlington library system.

Maybe they could save that much money by admitting the disaster of a roundabout they have spent money on with no accountability.

The Cherrydale Library is not interchangeable with the Central Library. Cherrydale Library is a cultural heritage building and community hub that focuses on beloved community programs and is one of the few amenities serving North Arlington. With many additional housing units coming to this area soon, the Madison community center renovation closure, and given general disinformation in society, it does not seem civil to close this midcentury gem whose impact is far greater than its budgetary allocation.

Cherrydale was a block away from the house we rented when we moved from Texas. What a welcoming place! We still enjoy visiting it.

Cherrydale Library is a small but invaluable gem in our community — a place of learning, refuge, and quiet connection. Please protect it for the generations who rely on it today and those who will discover it tomorrow.

I'm am very disappointed with the County Board's action to close our Cherrydale libary. It is a fixture of our neighborhood. I urge the board to reverse their decision.

I have used this small, convenient neighborhood library for years. Surely Arlington can afford to keep this cherished facility open.
