No other libraries within walking distance of my house

Cherrydale Library is part of the soul of our community. Adults and children alike gather here for activities and classes. We meet neighbors here and, of course, we have access to all that the county library has to offer in terms of reading and listening materials. One of the highlights that my son and I both anticipate when he moves back into this community in June is being able to share Cerrydale with his own young sons, as I did with him. My husband even wrote a children’s story called - you guessed it - Cherrydale for our kids since it was such an important part of their lives growing up. There aren’t many places that serve to bring our community together. Won’t you please leave Cherrydale Library open and help make our community a “caring, learning, participating, sustainable community in which each person is important.”

Libraries are cornerstones of our community, and Cherrydale is a gem for all ages; closing it would significantly change not only this part of Arlington but also speak to where our priorities are and are not. I believe the citizens of Arlington prioritize libraries for the many benefits they provide, which is why so many people are speaking out to keep Cherrydale open.

This library is an essential component of the neighborhood. I live halfway between it and Central and I still prefer Cherrydale over the two.

We have been going to this library for decades since our kids were small and it has been a huge community resource.

We've lived within walking distance of this little gem Cherrydale Library and we LOVE it! We went there all the time when our two kids were little and now we take our grandson there, plus it's super convenient to be able to walk there instead of having to drive to Central library. Arlington County can afford to keep the branch library open, so please please do!!

My wife and I use the library on a weekly basis and going to the central library would be an undue burden. The staff are outstanding and very helpful.

My husband and I use this library at least twice a month to check out books. It’s so quaint and friendly not at all like the larger, impersonal branches.

Small but mighty library branch near my art studio that I’d be very sad to lose.

Please save the Cherrydale Library - the only branch in our neighborhood and the place where our daughters first fell in love with books and learning.

The mending circle that meets regularly on a weekly basis at Cherrydale library. We learn new ways to artistically mend. It is a strong community building program that seems to gather new members constantly while keeping the regulars still coming. It would be a shame to close Cherrydale library. Isn’t that what libraries are for?….learning and community!
