In my time as chairman of the Castle Hills Zoning Commission, I have found Mr. Rapelye to be a dedicated public administration/public policy professional who is focused on the well-being of the community. I believe his professionalism is the reason why city council recently approved a two year extension of his contract. Surely, our elected officials who advocate for fiscal restraint and who hold a fiduciary responsibility to our city must realize that removing Mr. Rapelye would require a buy-out of his contract and/or legal expenses should they attempt to void his contract and remove him from his position claiming his performance has been anything but exceptional. I would like to believe our public servants (read that city council members) respect their obligation to act in the public interest rather than being driven by personal agendas and political pettiness.

I don’t understand how Douglas Gregory has any credibility after the scandal he pulled with abusing his power in trying to get his street fixed above others.

Keep the current City Manager. The excuse of no experience as a CM is hogwash. He has performed superbly, notwithstanding the rhetoric being posted against him.

Ryan is the most qualified and competent city manager we have had in many years. We are lucky to have him. He needs to be encouraged to stay and the idea that our council is not only hoping to run him off but actively trying to fire him is incompetent and hurtful to our beautiful city!

I am so sick and tired of hearing the horrible effect Leslie Wengler has on our city. She seems to be destroying everything we have worked so hard for since my parents bought in Castle Hills 48 years ago. We need to get her removed, sooner the better.
