I understand overcrowding at Glenkirk but what happens to our kids when the new development across from Gainesville Middle is finished and Piney Brook becomes overcrowded. I bet our kids will be relocated again and that could be 2 reboundary moves within maybe 5 years. Someone needs to investigate this more.

Keeping the Broad Run Oaks children in Glenkirk Elementary will prevent accidents as they wouldn't have to cross any major roads to get to school!!!

My son just started at glenkirk this year and loves it and doesn't want to change schools .

My two children are going to Glenkirk school and love this scool teir mom doesn't drive if something emergency happens she can't go to Piney branch Bu walk please let our kids be safe

Please do not rezone. My oldest attended Glenkirk and now my young one. Glenkirk has been the school for Broad Run Oaks children and should continue to be. It is not our fault nor our childrens that the county decided to OVER build residential areas instead of commercial. Now we have to rearrange our lives and our childrens lives because of poor planning. Rezoning will only cause over crowding at Piney Branch as more homes are currently being built in that area. I am against the rezoning.

Please keep Broad Run Oaks at Glenkirk! It does not make sense for our chiildren to be rezoned to a school that is further from out home. Please reconsider the rezoning.

The community of Broad Run Oaks was established well over ten years ago, shortly thereafter Glenkirk Elementary School was built. Our community has been established for some time now, and all the children in Broad Run Oaks have always attended Glenkirk ES. When we bought our home in Broad Run Oaks, we choose it so that our children will attend a school adjacent to our home. It is a promise of safety and comfort as they start on their adventure in education. We have a 4th grader and a 1st grader. My 4th grader may have to spend her last year in ES in a completely different school, not by our choice, then transition to Middle School. Many children and parents take advantage of the fact that we have the choice to walk to school. It is less than half a mile walk to Glenkirk ES, complete with sidewalks and crosswalks. Our children love Glenkirk ES and they are not pleased with the prospect of leaving Glenkirk ES. In fact, they were in tears when they heard the news.

My home in Broad Run Oaks backs up to Glenkirk, from the backyard I can actually see the school. The thought of sending my child to a school further away seems ludicrous to me when I can basically cross the street and have her safely learning in less than 5 minutes. I staunchly oppose the proposed removal of our children from GES not only because of the close proximity but also 3 of my 4 children have attended this school since we moved to the Gainesville area. I was happily looking forward to see my youngest spend her elementary school years at the same school as her brothers and sisters. This is not only a rezoning issue. This proposal affects relationships and the established sense of community that all of BRO residents have spent years cultivating at the school.

My home is only 0.5 miles from Glenkirk. How does it make any sense to move us to a school that is farther away?
