Keep Bradfield Parish Gritted

This is a particularly hilly area in a city built on hills. Restricting gritting is not a sensible option. It will lead to an increase in claims for negligence when there is a sharp increase in accidents

Bradfield Parish is already one of the worst areas in Sheffield to negotiate in bad weather. Hills have to be gritted . This is just common sense. How many minor bumps, serious accidents or even fatatilties will in take before Sheffield Council sees sense

This is a ridiculous proposal which puts the travel arrangement for parents and student in jepordy. What is the value of a life? These proposals could and most likely will jepordise the education of many young people, what surprises me the most is that iot is supposed educated people that have come up with this cost saving idea.

I think for the safety of the children travelling to school by bus on country lanes, it is essential that these roads are gritted.

Not to grit these roads is beyond believe, Malin Bridge is a nightmare without snow and ice - this is going to have a massive impact on children, staff who attend Bradfield School.

T.White farmers have delivered milk etc to many parts of hillsborough/walkley and other areas for over 50 years in all kinds of weather and never missed a delivery.This is depriving them of business for this very loyal family.Not everybody wishes to buy from a supermarket !!Some of my family live on Wadsley Village Est will this be affected for getting children to school.!!!!You really need to think this through again.

Gritting is not a luxury; it is essential. Keep gritting and keep our friends, neighbours, workmates and families safe.

Why? From this petition alone, there are dozens of reasons why these proposals should not go ahead. How many more reasons does the council need?

Cutting back on the gritting is a ludicrous idea. Surely people's safety is the most important thing that the Council should be spending our money on.

I'm guessing 95% of Sheffield City Council schools are NOT located on major routes. Therefore these same schools will be forced to be closed during bad weather, along with the rest of the communities. As well as affecting our children's schooling, what will be the wider impact to the whole community? Provisions for the elderly, access for Emergency services, chaos from abandoned vehicles. Sheffield City Council memebers need to join our brave gritting crews to see what affect this will have on the community

My daughter is in her gcse year and feel that any lack of gritting over the winter around her school would be detrimental to her academic progress

Much if North West Sheffield will be left at risk of being cut off for days when we have 'normal' snowy winters it will affect 000s of the city's residents. There will be more work caused for the emergency services etc as people become 'stranded'. All seems a bit short sighted to me

We don't live in Norfolk. Sheffield is one of the hilliest cities in the country. It is madness to even consider reducing the amount of gritting!

I fear that there will be a fatality on More Hall Lane if the road is not 'maintained' during the winter months.
