Petition To Keep Big Canoe Soccer Field Open to Dog Owners

I see no reason why the soccer field area could not be used as a dog park in the soccer off season.

Many communities offer their sports fields for use as dog parks. Show some generosity towards your community.

fully support 'soccer field' or otherwise known as large fenced in area, being available to dogs and their owners.

I haven’t used the soccer field with my canines but it’s obvious that this amenity isn’t used for the sport itself. So why leave an amenity lot owners paid for vacant? Rehabilitating BCAR resident’s is a key part of successful re-homing. It needs a contained space in which to let the residents socialize and helps keep the dogs in better physical shape. Why not set a policy that BCAR has exclusive rights for daily segments then open it to the public? As far as keeping it clean, like any amenity, everyone must take the pride necessary to pitch in and maintain. I don’t see massive disregard amongst lot owners so I wouldn’t expect it here. Please re-consider the highest and best use for an amenity that is supposed to improve quality of life behind the gates.

It seems decisions are being made without feedback from community members. We are a community, right?

The soccer field should allow dogs. It’s level, has restroom facilities and lacks the amount of creatures/snakes as the other designated dog parks.

I sometimes have mobility problems, so soccer field is a perfect location. Sorry so late!

Please allow somewhere that I can walk my service dog, I have a walking issue and can’t make it back to the dog park.

Please allow the soccer field to be used by residents for their dogs to get exercise and play. The details can be worked out and other spaces can be used by the soccer players. There are more dog owners who need a quality dog park than there are soccer players here in Big Canoe.

We use the soccer field for our dog because it is easier for me to get to and maneuver with my health conditions. It would really help us as as well as the other residents who have the same issues.

Please keep the field ope, owners can be watchful and clean messes left by unfortunate others.

I understand the concerns from the POA and possibly BCAR. MANY of us are paying the price for a FEW. There are advantages to this field being near restrooms and easy access. Could you consider putting a bag dispenser at the other end? Putting a camera that works and may deter those thoughtless folks ? It has become our own group, club and requesting certain times or even certain days may help. It’s maddening to pick up after others but I’m willing! Please reconsider. Thanks

Please reopen the soccer field. The baseball field is muddy and hard to access.

Dogs should be welcome as long as owners pick up after them...

We need to start having events below the dam.
