This is an excellent facility which should continue to be the public good it has been throughout its history. Berks County is fortunate to have the Heim and should do everything to keep it as a county facility. Everyone I talk to about this issue says they will gladly pay more in taxes to support the Heim as a community-owned and operated facility. There is no need to mess with success.

We have a family member in Berks Heim who was previously in another facility. The level of caring by the staff of Berks Heim is wonderful and her mental outlook has improved significantly. We cannot be happier. Berks Heim must be kept as it is now. The tax increase needed is "pocket change". There should not be a debate on keeping Berks Heim as it is now!

My father has been a resident for 4 yrs and has been treated with the upmost respect and dignity. The staff is exceptional in their care above any other facilities in Berks!! . Berks County's best kept secret. Please do not sell and ruin this reputation!!! .

Reduce the D.A/'s portion of Berks taxes and let the DA use the drug forfeiture money to pay for the enforcement of drugs

Yes, Berks Be in needs to stay ad is. We ate so blessed to have it! These CNAs work very hard and give excellent care to our elderly and disabled. If anything, these employees deserve an increase in wages.

I could of put my father in a nursing home 2 blocks from my house, a convenience for me. I heard the best place for good quality care was Berks Heim, a 10 mile drive away. I’m glad I did, this place is different from all the rest. Good nurses, staff, that truly care. Please don’t privatize.

Please do not privatize Berks Heim. This will affect so many lives in a negative way. Leave things the way they are. Residents and employees will suffer because companies atr about making money and not caring for the residents.

I've had the pleasure to work at Berks Him for 23 years as a LPN, starting when I was just 19 years old. I've seen many changes throughout those years most for the better. But one thing always remained & that was the excellent level of care our residents received on a daily basis. If you look at the average length of our employees you will see most of us have been here 20-30+ years. That tells me it's a great place to work & staff really care & love their residents, they are like family to us. We need to focus on those things not just finance's. Our residents deserve to be taken care of they have lived & paid taxes all their lives & now when they need our help the commissioners want to sell them out all in the name of money. I'm sure if the public & family of those residents were given the choice of selling Berks Him or raising their taxes they would have taxes be higher. Please consider all options before selling this excellent nursing home.
