The cross was erected in memory of a person who was a leader in the community during the 1940s. There is a inscription on it that says it.

Please do not remove this beautiful iconic symbol from Bayview park. It doesn't define the park as strictly Christian but it represents what Christians believe and that is everyone is welcome there.
