These murals are a part of the history of the school, and to destroy them would be destroying that history. They are true art from students who cared.

Why is it that Art is always treated as if its not important? Sad that some can be so narrow minded.

This artwork is an important history of the students who have attended this school. A gift from the artist to the future. Don't take that away.

There's no way that mchenry high and mchenry it's self are gonna allow the mchenry tradition to be in jeopardy due to the fact Mr Eric Blake wants to paint over it. I say sigh the petition and save that tradition

My older sister had painted a mural for a loved family-friend who had passed away. I looked at it almost every day going to lunch and am sad to hear it may be destroyed among the other special paintings made by the students. They mean something and it's horrible someone is considering destroying them.

I took 3 1/2 years of art at west campus I know how hard it is to complete a peice of work like this. I hope the mural stays up for decades to come

The reason I took 4 years of Art was for this purpose. We were all given the impression that our works would stay on this wall. Never did I ever think that it was going to be erased, it's really upsetting. Everyone interprets art differently, something small to Blake could mean something imaginable to someone else. I wish there was more that I could do to help.

So many wonderful memories in Mr. K's class. I sure hope the murals are not painted over.

My artwork is on that wall, and I believe that this is a great way for students to exhibit their work. If it weren't for Mr. K, my future of being a graphic designer would have been forgotten, now 13 years strong with my own business. We were able to express ourselves and be creative in all aspects. Please do not paint over these!
