Nobody has the right to take down these murals. If some random principal think he's going to change 20 years of people's hard work and dedication, he is sadly mistaken.

My sister, a graduate of MCHS Class of 2000 has an art piece in here. It means a lot to her as well as our entire family.

Really?? DONT paint over them, they have meaning. It's like painting over someone's grave and being like well every grave needs to be blue so I'm painting them all even though they have a huge background to them, it's just disgraceful.

My sisters art is on this wall. She had made a name for herself in Chicago LA and now she is working on New York. This wall shows how far she has come.

Graduate of McHenry Highschool 2000. I remember the murals in east hallway fondly. Please reconsider destroying them. These murals are a part of history, a history told by younger generations of students how they viewed the world.

He sounds like an idiot. I bet he can't even draw. Keep the walls the way they are.

art is important and students should have the right to paint a mural to leave their mark on the school!!! there's no good reason to stop this tradition!!!!

What is the reason for this nonsense? Surely you don't want to waste any more taxpayer money on this. After all, remember the gym fiasco.

You do not get to chose which art is valuable and which is not. All murals are appropriate for the high school setting and that is what matters. The art hallways in East Campus allow all four year art students to paint as a reward of four years of art study. To "choose" which art remains and what does not is an unjust center to students past and present. It is unnecessary censorship. This art adds beauty and character to East Campus. It shows that the vision of all students is valued. Mr. Eric Blake is blind if he does not see the value all these murals hold not just to art students, but to the community as a whole. I was never an art student, but I felt blessed that my senior year locker was located in such an incredible hallway. I often took the long way to lunch to walk through this hallway. It's a shame this new principle doesn't see the value the entire McHenry community does in this art.

It's part of the history of the school. Save the money for something feasible.

This was an extremely influential portion of the art program at east campus for a lot of my fellow classmates. They spent four years in the art program and this gave them the chance to leave their individual mark on east campus. SAVE THE ART!!
