Why not remove all the trophies for sports if you're cleaning house of past
honors?

I myself and other class mates of Class of 97 have murals on that wall and it would be a crime to see them taken down!!!

It is so important to nurture young artists and inspire them to succeed. These walls give the students a goal to achieve. We have enough goal-less kids these days. Don't replace their brushes with game controllers.

Why would you do this? Is nothing sacred anymore? My daughter's art is on those walls as is many others who have earned that right of passage. I find it a vast improvement over the usual institutional paint colors. So again I ask, WHY destroy art?

This is part of the history of the school my bf did one in 1978 at his high school still there today he was able to show both of his daughters don't take that art away!!!

As one of the past Art Students I believe that this shouldn't be takin from the kids. It's a beautiful thing and you can express your self, also people truly enjoy those walls. DONT MAKE SCHOOL COMPLETELY UNFUN.

I was part of the east campuses mural, as you walk in the back of the school with Mr. Cooper! I didn't see that there noir if they were going to cover it up as well? But all of these priceless works are a part of everyone that walked those halls they can't just take them away!

To even be considered to be able to add to this mural is a rite of passage, a positive mark on the school, a source of pride, and a piece of McHenry history and artistic lore. We should be finding ways to add to the school's culture and character, not erase it.

I think it's horrible that the current principal wants to cover up these murals shame on him!!!!! These are excellent works of art that took a lot of thought processing and hard work and determination and this is not fair because it is taking away students 1st amendment rights!!!

I'm sure there are sport trophies from 1996 still on display. Athletes, artists and other students give their all to the talents they possess.
