Any building with historic values should never be removed.

Will always be BHS to me. Too grand of a building to tear down. I would pay to walk through it!!! Maybe money could be raised that way.

It may not be on Jefferson St. Downtown Burlington, Iowa but, it is still a huge part of historic Burlington and should be kept alive and not be destroyed.

This historic building in Burlington should be saved! An art center would be perfect, but not sure about the name 'apollo'..that name was only used for a very short time. This former high school and junior college building has so much potential yet!!!

I believe that saving Apollo would be a betterment to the Burlington community, rather than creating another Manor in the middle of the city that will invite more big city criminals to town. Its a beautiful and historic building with a lot of potential. Let's save it and better Burlington.

As a person who grew up in Burlington and attended Apollo school. Hasn't Burlington officials' tore down enough historical sights. Let's do something that will improve our kids and the community. Haven't we gave enough for low rent housing. This could bring a few jobs for teachers and school workers.

I fully support and, should it be allowed to come to fruition, would continue to support Apollo as a School of The Arts. Burlington has really begun to establish itself as a draw for the artistic community. I don't see how we can deny something that would dramatically add positive momentum in that direction. Surely we should understand the value in that synergy. Aren't we, after all, seeking to attract people to our community. And why would we not want to be a magnet for more culture? I am a homeowner in Saunderson Heights and do not wish to see my neighborhood further devalued by Apollo becoming housing. Particularly since, before I purchased this home 16 years ago, I lived in a duplex on Market St. A fully renovated unit with both units rented by long-term tenants. A duplex which was my landlord's retirement income. The home my daughter grew up in. Yet the city chose to tear down that housing! And now the city wants to devalue my current neighborhood because it needs housing? You had housing. Let's listen to what your city's residents want for a change. Preserve our history and provide us a quality option for regrowth. Please!!

I hope this building can be saved. A school for the arts would be wonderful for it!
