Taking AP World History as a sophomore was probably one of the most influencial and rewarding experiences during my time at Weston High School. The challenging pace and nature of this class taught me valuable study and work habits early on in high school that I continue to use in college. The challenges of AP World also made me feel closer to my classmates and teacher than I have in any other course at Weston High School. My little sister will be a sophomore at Weston next year and I want her to have the option that I did to take such an influential class. Please do not take away this opportunity for future WHS sophomores.

This was perhaps the most valuable class I took at whs and a huge part of that reason was because of how challenging it was. A large part of that challenge would have been lost of it had only been an older student elective. In addition, I most likely would not have taken the class as an elective later because I was very math and science oriented and at that point there were many more math and science electives available. In addition, I think few people would choose to take a third yeah of world history after already learning it all. That being said, I do think it is a good idea to also offer an honors world history option sophomore year and potentially open up ap world to older students as well - though keeping an all sophomore class would be essential, as a huge part of the course was the cammraderie amongst classmates it caused, and that would be lost in a mixed level course

Never had I experienced such a strong sense of academic community than in the AP World History classroom. Learning alongside people who were passionate about the world while also gaining invaluable skills of time management and critical thinking helped set me up for success for the rest of high school and beyond. I hope that future sophomores have the opportunity to enjoy the class as much as I did.

AP World History prepared me more for college sophmore year then any other class in high school. I am now out of Weston High school and can attest to how valuable the skills I learned in the class have benefited me in college so far. I learned so much not only about world history, but about how to be an attentive student.

Hi friends, my name is Matthew and I have no relation to Weston High School. At my high school in Colorado, APUSH served a similar purpose to Weston's AP World History. It existed as a community of sophomores who could learn skills vital to succeeding in more advanced classes as an upperclassmen. Much to the protest of the students at my high school, APUSH was removed from our curriculum during my freshman year. Being part of the first class who was not offered this opportunity really impacted my sophomore year and made the transition to AP classes during my junior year much more difficult.

I'm out of WHS now, and preparing for finals at college. I can't even begin to say how invaluable taking AP World in sophomore year with Mrs. Lee was not just in preparing me for APs in junior and senior year, but for the work that I'm doing now. AP World taught me how to be organized, gave me confidence and skills to succeed in subsequent AP classes (a big factor in my success in APUSH and AP Euro were due to the skills I gained in AP World), and how to think critically. It would be such a shame to see this irreplaceable course pushed into a senior elective to make room for a course that undoubtedly wouldn't be as impactful.

AP World History was definitely the most interesting and relevant class offered at Weston High School, so I believe it should stay in the sophomore curriculum.

I am a CP history student this year, but even I understand that 10th graders are mature enough and smart enough take and to appreciate AP courses.

AP World has taught me so much more than just history. The class teaches work ethic, diligence, teamwork and critical thinking at a level that is not even approached in other classes. The intensity of the class, while not for everyone, is its best quality. The class forms a community that is closer than any other class I have taken or am in. Having AP World as a sophomore class has made my other classes easier and has prepared me for the next years to come.

Definitely my favorite class last year. WHAP is packed with lessons (writing, discussion, global awareness) that are highly applicable to the rest of high school and beyond. It doesn't make sense for WHAP to become a JR/SR elective since it wouldn't be as valuable to students--JR's tend to be very busy taking many AP courses, and AP's are not really considered important after college application for SR's. As sophomores, students are able to focus on WHAP's vital lessons while becoming better students for the future. Mrs. Lee works really hard to make this class awesome!

AP World History prepared me so well for all the other AP courses that I took and am taking. When I see juniors in APUSH (who did not take APWH as a sophomore) struggling to write a timed history essay, and not knowing what to do on a DBQ, I feel so glad to have taken APWH. If APWH does not remain as the only sophomore AP class, suddenly loading up junior year with APs without any prior experience is going to be a struggle for students.

APWH was my favorite class of high school, and defiantly prepared me better for the rest of high school and even up into college than any other class I took. It would be a true shame to see it changed fro what it should be, an upper level sophomore class.

This course is a vital stepping stone for Junior and Senior year, when many students take multiple AP's. It teaches the skills needed to succeed in AP's, and hence softens the transition to junior and senior year. Imagine dealing with the shock of 3 AP's without ever having taken an Ap before?!

Please keep AP World a sophomore class! No class could have prepared me more for my increasingly hard courses throughout the rest of my high school career. It taught me how to think fast and critically, manage large amounts of information, stay organized and gave me confidence that I could handle a college level class early on. The skills that this class gives its students are skills I am glad I learned then and not later.

AP Euro was my favorite class of Sophomore year, and definitely one of my favorites of high school. If the proposed changes to the course are implemented, kids like me would not be able to experience the same course I did and that's a shame.

APWH is my favorite class this year and one of the best courses I have ever taken. It is challenging, fast paced and extremely enjoyable. I believe that future Weston sophomores deserve the same wonderful opportunity I have been given.
