No rink in b'stoke would be a crime. The Bison organisation is a gem that should be cherished and an attration that can bring people in by the hundreds.

I use the ice rink to play hockey on a weekly basis, and take my kids skating, and also support the bison! be a shame to loose a great venue,

Have been a fellow supporter of ice hockey for 30 years and had many a great time at Basingstoke & made friends along the way.

The Basingstoke Bison ice hockey team is the best supported sports team in the Borough. If hockey must be saved.

Ice skating is such a difficult sport not only because of costs, but travel and availability don’t let these sports get any harder (GB barely has an olympic team... despit 1984 Torville&Dean the perfect score)

The Basingstoke Bison, and the Basingstoke Arena have provided a critical resource for leisure, recreation and sport in the Town. The Bison launched the careers of two major US sports Careers. Myself, the CEO of an Olympi Governing Body and Mark Bernard, the GM of Minor League Affiliates for the Chicago Blackhawks.

I used to watch Phoenix I'm not surprised it's really sad and typical of Planet Ice organisation this has been going on far too long. I hope the Bison manage to sort this out the town needs them the sport does too and all the other teams need there rink. Blame is solely on Planet Ice such an incompetent company connected to Silver Blades another incompetent company

Ridiculous in a town this size and expanding that we would be cutting leisure facilities in favour of shopping outlets when we have a town centre with so many empty units.

I'm from oxford and we have visited many times for junior ice hockey matches. It's a big shame yet another ice rink is in danger of closing . Please do not close

A very sad day if the rink is closed. An enjoyable rink to visit and a great set of fans who dont deserve to have their team in jeopardy

The rink in Basingstoke is not solely used for the local community but wider network nationally for ice hockey & figure skating/ice dance etc. If the rink were to close it would affect teams nationally.

As a parent of a committed young figure skater, the town needs a rink. It has a very strong community of skaters across many disciplines and I know of skaters travelling a LONG way to skate here. It doesn’t just serve Basingstoke, it pulls in skaters from Dorset, Surrey , Berkshire and beyond. These far flung skaters bring revenue to local hotels, restaurants and retail outlets. Losing them doesn’t just affect the rink but the town as a whole. The community has kept the ailing facility afloat and deserves a new rink to reward its support.

A vital facility for all ages and hosts the biggest supported sport in the town

Please don’t lose a great asset to Basingstoke. Granted the currently building isn’t great but why not create something amazing and save the rink for fun skating, synchro, figure, ice tots, junior and league hockey. Keep Basingstoke on the map for skating.

Invest in the rink, don't just close it down!
