Played in Basingstoke many times as a kid and pro.
The UK can not afford to lose another rink.

In my opinion it would be criminal to let this great sport decline any further. Not only that I have been to many arenas and the Basingstoke fan club is phenomenal. Basingstoke love their hockey, they need their hockey. I believe more fans attend to see the Bison play with a greater atmosphere than at any Basingstoke football match. Get rid of the football team. Not the hockey team.

My daughter skates here as did my son when he played ice hockey. To see this goes would be shame. And shame on the council for not enforcing their rules when they said what needed doing to it to fix it. Maybe they should take over the running of it and then it wouldn't of got into this mess. We need an ice rink it would not be the same without ice hockey and the kids will have no where to continue their skating.

Planet Ice have a history of poor management, how or why thry eere allowed in the first place is beyond me. Commercial operation or not, the council should be providing leisure opportunities. Build a new one, run properly and let planet ice lose customers at their own fault
