Spent many a afternoon here as a child ice skating and as I’ve grown older come to watch the hockey when visiting family in the town! Ridiculous waste of money build yet more shops to stand empty and more restaurants when it’s a fun family place to take the kids

Leisure facilities are so important for our children to access. We need to keep producing top quality athletes , we are already falling behind so many other nations.
We have to inspire our future Olympians.. hard to do when these facilities keep being closed down!

Another rink should not be left to go under.
The council should step in as part of the renovation of the area.

The ice rink has been the top leisure attraction in Basingstoke since it opened in 1988, used by public skaters, figure skaters and ice hockey teams from the junior to senior levels by both sexes. The Bison is THE major sport attraction in town. The town NEEDS a ice arena run by well managed and responsible group.
Basingstoke Councillors, please listen to those who put you in your position and do the right thing. KEEP OUR ICE ARENA!

It would be a total travesty and blatant mis-management by the council if the rink were to close. Basingstoke is a hockey town!!

Planet Ice has a rich history in Basingstoke, it has to be profitable of course, no one will run a business to lose money, however, Bracknellnis too far to go, everyone needs to find away to keep a rink in Basingstoke and let’s be honest who needs more shops unless they are restaurants.

Interest in hockey grows every year, rinks should be increasing in numbers NOT decreasing
An ice rink is a social venue , most of my friends I’ve met through hockey/skating/socialising at the local Ice Rink
