I have been going to watch ice hockey in basingstoke since the rink opened and want to continue doing so, it’s is the most watch sport in the town above football and rugby, we should be promoting sport for the future of our children not throwing it away for more clothes and coffee shops that already have an abundance of.

I spent a lot of my junior career here playing ice hockey. And made some really great friends. Every town needs an ice rink so don’t this away from the kids..!!

Let the kids have somewhere to go and what about all those that watch the Bisons. Why take something else out of the area.

My daughter skates at this rink as a secondary rink to Guildford when she can’t get the ice time at Guildford. She competes abroad and is doing extremely well at her sport. She even qualified for the British this year one of the youngest girls in the country to do this. Without Basingstoke Ice Rink and some of the coaches there this would not be possible for her please don’t take away a child’s dream along with all the other skaters and coaches that work so hard to put Basingstoke on the map. My son also plays ice hockey for the Guildford Flames and I know he has really enjoyed playing against some of the junior members of the Basingstoke Bison teams. Without this rink children from all over the country will be so sad to loose what is essentially a place to grow in their chosen sports. I hope the council will recognise the importance of this ice rink to the community and beyond.

It is so important to keep an ice rink in Basingstoke both for the public amenity and the sports of ice hockey and skating.

We need a new ice rink as part of the new development, the current rink has been one of the most popular leisure attractions for over 30 years, it should be a no-brained!

I remember the multiple Bisons games I have gone to with my younger brother and his friends and thoroughly enjoyed myself. To think that somewhere I hold fond memories at would simply be gotten rid of is unthinkable.

I grew up going to Friday and Saturday night skate nights. It provided me a safe place to learn to skate and how to socialise and thats invaluable. I also learnt how to play Ice Hockey and have watched many games. Losing the rink is like losing a part of me. Just include this in your plans!
Rink is it’s own community, it should stay open
