This facility offers Basingstoke ice users diverse skating opportunities. It should have been maintained for the community by those who have been in charge. They were custodians of the rink, have shirked their responsibility, milked it financially and have let us down. They should fix what they did not maintain so it can be handed to a group willing to make it a successful venture once more!

Basingstoke is synonymous with ice hockey to me. Without the bison I would have never heard of the town. Basingstoke are one of the strongest and most consistently supported teams in the South and have a rich history. For Basingstoke councillors to ignore this core of the community would be absurd.

It would be such a shame to take away the facilities and lose our Ice Hockey team. There are a lot of children especially who enjoy watching them.

I have only great memories of playing there for the Beavers and the Bison. This rink is still one of my favourite to play in. I really hope that the rink can remain open and continue to provide a positive experience for the town.

We need more ice rinks not less. Look at the recent Winter Olympics, we may not have snow and be able to practice in this country; but we can have a ice rinks and stand a chance on ice, ice hockey, skating dance and speed, even curling. So why are we not keeping those we have and building new ones. So please keep an ice rink in Basingstoke.

We need our children to get off their tablets and phones and be involved in sporting exercise, allowing the rink to close will not be helping them one iota. Also allowing it to close makes Basingstoke look like a second rate town - if you want to do/see anything on ice you need to go to a larger more affluent upmarket town. Letting it close does not help in the good image stakes. We don't want people thinking Basingstoke used to be great but now it's gone downhill. Yes the council should be putting money into this ice rink or even a new one in the same way as the sports centre.

Please keep the rink. Vital for the local community and also for people like us who travel to the rink to watch excellent ice hockey.
