surely if a COSTA can be considered a good thing then an ice rink has to be a lot better? Since when do we prioritise rubbish food (McDonalds, KFC, Costa) and trashy venues (bowling place) over somewhere that keeps everyone fit and healthy?? Council sort your priorities out!!

I thought the Government, including local government, were supposed to be encouraging the nation to take up sport and exercise more. I live in Winchester and I've been skating at Basingstoke rink for over 11 years. I use the rink twice a week and it's my main form of exercise. Please don't close it.

It's totally unacceptable the was Planet Ice have used and abused the rink and their paying customers. There should be a public enquiry and they and the council face charges

We travel from afar to use the facilities at planet ice, and to support Basingstoke bison, we would be devastated if the rink was to close with no alternative ( new rink) offered

I travel from Southampton weekly to use this facility to support the Bison, as we have no rink of our own in my city.
Since the closure, many many years ago, of Southampton’s own rink, the local residents have always wanted the council or a third party developer to open a new facility. It would be a shame to have to travel even further to use such a scarce commodity.

Southampton closed there rink years ago and the south coast shouldn’t be denied another one!
