Planet Ice the owners have underinvested for years in the fabric of the building. It is now critical with the structure. Nobody including the council wants to take it on. So bulldoze it and include in the new £330 mil development . It’s needed over and above more fast food eatery’s supporting excercise and ability regardless of age???

We all need for us and children to go somewhere to ice skating stop closing them.Have waited for years for one in Southampton now you are closing another one

Loosing a leisure activity such as this is the start of a slippery slope. It should remain as once lost is unlikely to ever reappear.
Having places like this what makes Basingstoke a great place to live and visit.

Allowing the ice rink to close and not be replaced would be a disgrace, as would allowing the Bison to fold as well. Planet Ice seems to not care so maybe the council should find someone to manage the rink who does.

Basingstoke ice rink need to stay open. It is a valuable asset to the community and those further away. There is only one ice rink on the south coast other than Basingstoke. We need more ice rinks not less.

Ice rinks are scarce as is, it would be a real tragedy for this rink, which supports so many wonderful teams, to shut down.

This is a valuable asset that is heavily used by
youngsters. The activities that are undertaken at the rink should be promoted, not forgotten.
