Shouldn't the "Olympic legacy" be keeping fully working sports facilities like this running, instead of building a token effort one as a monument to local government?

The ice rink is so important to the town and should be kept running. All the new skaters who join in after watching Dancing on Ice will help with its viability.

To take the home of the Basingstoke Bison and Buffalo would be nothing short of criminal. You would be destroying something that flies the Basingstoke name with positivity! The Bison are basically first place in the league, it’s not like we don’t bring home the silverware! Go to a Bison game and feel the energy! With more funding this place can attract more fans, bring in more revenue to the club AND the arena, the Bison could then afford to go back into the Elite Hockey League and compete with the best teams in the country! Which will mean MORE revenue from away fans, plus home fans will be more inspired to join Basingstokes recreational teams and more kids will join our youth teams, I know this because it’s what I am doing myself! Don’t destroy a positive part of our community! Be part of an ever growing sporting movement!

All types of skating are a growing and exceptionally skill sports. Reducing the facilities removes people’s choice to select this as a sport!

Please songbird shut it down, my friend loves that ice rink and goes there nearly everyday of the week and my family love going there!!!!!!!!

It's the most watched sport in Basingstoke, 10 times the number of football supporters if not more. Basingstoke is big enough to have a decent sports team and the Bison is it.
