Where did the Olympic legacy for sport go when you consider knocking down centres like this than invest in them. The Rink needs to be invested in.

Basingstoke needs an ice rink,a town this size and growing, should be supporting it .Many disciplines use the rink from near and far.

Travel from Swindon to watch the Bison. Always a great family atmosphere. Have had ice skating lesson too and have taken my children there . Bison are the best team in the south and a credit to Basingstoke.

Skating formed the backbone of my family for years. It gave my daughters a chance to travel the world with the syncro team and helped my lads with their skills in the hockey team.

This is a vital community facility and the Basingstoke Bison are a popular club which is great for the town and inspires many people to take up ice hockey. It is a travesty that the building has been allowed to deteriorate and is now under threat at a time when we should be encouraging participation in sport!

Can't believe they are thinking of taking away a leisure facility. I admit the current rink is not pleasant as it has not been maintained. However eveyone you speak to in Basingstoke has some pleasant memories of their time there whether it be skating or hockey related.

ve used the ice rink ever since it opened. As a teenager I went skating with my friends all the time and I have been a supporter of the Basingstoke Bison ice hockey team since it started. It's the best supported sport in Basingstoke, how can the council stand by and do nothing. Tonight the building was packed out at the ice hockey game so it's truly in demand and enjoyed by a vast number of people. It would be a travesty to loose our ice rink and our ice hockey teams of which there are many. Children and teenagers will have no where to go - unbelievable!

If it's not a financially viable option then they need to close it because otherwise it will cost a lot of money to replace and repair. It's a waste of money that could be used to build for example more affordable homes in the area. If they can't afford it then no amount of signatures will change what is to come.

The ice rink is a great amenity and one of the reasons I moved to Basingstoke as there were lots of healthy fun things for older kids to do
Such a shame to be removed xx
