My children skated many competitions here and my son represented Basingstoke in interclub competitions for many years. This rink cannot close, it is a important local asset.

Basingstoke is going to lose a lot of money and business in general by shutting down the ice rink. If people are coming in to Basingstoke to skate, they will just take their business elsewhere meaning other corporations lose money as well. It's quite a selling point for the town and would not only be a shame, but detrimental to the community if it were to be closed.

Getting real sick of public amenities being binned so some private business owner can pocket a profit. Our council actually needs to stand for their people, not their own pockets.
