The idea that Basingstoke might not have an ice rink is insane. For nearly 30 years I’ve hockey has been a stable and growing part of Basingstoke’s community, and is still the most attended sport in the town. It provides children with inspiration and an example of true sportsmanship and the team’s commitment to the local community and causes makes them an asset to Basingstoke. If the rink had been repaired and it’s upkeep maintained we would still easily attract the 1500 attendees week after week that we used to get in the rinks heyday. A town this size simply must have an ice rink to provide our future generations of budding sportsmen and women and supporters alike.

It cant all be about football...other sports and facilities deserve funding and support from Councils, Gov and Sport England etc....

We need an ice rink!! I am a season ticket holder with the Bison, people come from all over the country to play ice hockey, this helps local hotels/businesses and visitors to Basingstoke. I grew up here and always used the rink. it’s needed for families, sports, leisure and a place to meet people with the same interest and will be an asset to Basingstoke. .

I’ve lived in Basingstoke all my life and all I’ve known is hockey in this town it’s better followed than the football team it’s a family atmosphere and my kids will miss out massively if the ice rink goes

The Ice Rink is at the heart of so many families and sporting teams...Closing the rink will be a massive loss to English Ice Hockey development and leave a huge gap of facilities suitable for family physical activities which is enjoyed by all ages....

There is big demand for the ice rink! As a recreational team, we are often forced to start games at midnight because of the ice being unavailable! The rink is in a terrible state, and the pro teams must suffer as it is not a pleasant environment to support your local team.

I use this as rec hockey player and thoroughly enjoy the team I play for I also support the most support team in basingstoke the basingstoke bison so I agree Basingstoke deserves an ice rink

It would be such a shame if this place closes i have been going from the day the place opened and it was my first place of work
