I use the train many weekends to visit my bestfriend in Norfolk and this is the only way I can afford to visit my biggest support system whom helps me make it through college. Without the train I could no longer connect to my bestfriend and could possibly have mental breakdowns. This train station is important not only to the people of Ettrick and myself but to all people as VSU houses students from everywhere.

The Ettrick Amtrak train station deserves to stay simple because it is a way of transportation for a lot of VSU students who live far away. As an undergrad student this was my only form of reliable and convenient transportation to get from Virginia to Connecticut and back.

This station saved thanksgiving for me my freshman year in 2013. There was no other way for me to get home to Chicago but the Amtrak in Ettrick. Please don’t take it

As an out of state VSU student this station has be crucial to me going to and coming from school. It is already expensive to get a train ticket home but the proximity of the station prevents me from having to pay the extra expense of having to get transportation to the station so that I can return home.

As a student of Virginia State University, the Petersburg Amtrak is one of the main sources of transportation that helps most of my fellow classmates. Keeping this train will benefit not just the students, but other residents of Petersburg, Colonial Heights, and the residents around the area. Please keep this station!

This has become a very nessecary tool. As a Freshman student at VSU, I often miss home. So when no one can come get me, the train is my best option of transportation.
