Bring the Founder's Day fireworks back to the river and downtown or accurately change the day to Carpentersville Summer Fest,

For most of my life I have enjoyed watching the fireworks off the river with friends and family. The Founders Days committee believes moving the fireworks will mean an extra day of revinue, but fail to realize people will watch the fireworks without paying to enter the park. The festival has already moved and hurt downtown businesses. Moving the fireworks will do the same. We might as well start calling this festival something else, because it has almost nothing to do with Algonquin at this point

The fireworks over the river are simply breathtaking. Why change the perfect location, a grand tradition, and the ultimate end to founders day?

It is the river that makes Algonquin special. Keep the fest where it belongs and that is downtown and the river is a big part of the weekend.

Why ruin a good thing!? Algonquin is known for being on The Fox! Why would you not have the fireworks there!? Silly!

I moved to OK 2 years ago. But still call the Algonquin area home. I would be very disappointed to see the fireworks moved. Founders Day was one of things I enjoyed most while living in LITH.

It is a yearly event that my family has enjoyed for many tears. It's a shame that someone would just decide to move it. Downtown Algonquin should remain the premier spot for founders day, especially now with the new bypass.
