I would not go to the new location. And the Founders day fest will become just a memory.

When we heard they were moving the fireworks to the park, we were so disappointed. The reflection of the fireworks in the water of the fox river make an average fireworks display look like a spectacular display costing so much more. I believe this decision to change the location was not completely thought out. More input should have been sought out.

I used to love going to Founders Day! Haven't enjoyed it since its moved. Have to find a way to bring it back into the downtown area to re establish this once "looked forwarded to tradition!" Didn't we all painstakingly go thru the bipass so we could bring more to the downtown area ?!?? Moving the fireworks will be the mail in the coffin for me....what a shame!

The Board HAS lost the true perspective of the community. They also wanted to move the parade from Main St. to Sandbloom which will negatively affect the downtown businesses and the long-standing tradition of the parade.

For as long as I've known, I've watched the fireworks on the river surrounded by family and friends. It's tradition. Changing tradition distorts what this town was built on. Besides, I don't know how many people living up near Algonquin Lakes will be thrilled about fireworks being launched near their homes, with how people fear of fires. Having it off the river is safer, prettier, and it's part of the tradition of this festival and this town. Keep the fireworks where they've been and quit trying to change things.

dont change fireworks it is historical down by the river. I will not go to founders day if this happens.

Don't change location. We are all trying hard to better the downtown district. Why is there a change of venue even on the table? Who's idea was it? Not the down town business owners. I can tell you that.
