I find it genuinely confusing to use ai art while the school quite literally auditions students into the school for art. I’m sure a senior or class would love such high view wall space to display their handcrafted art.

AI has no place in schools, especially so one that is so filled with artistic talent.

I am writing to express my concerns regarding the recent installation of AI-generated artwork at our school. While I understand the intention may have been to modernise the space or explore new creative tools, the final result unfortunately does not reflect the quality or meaning that art within a school community should embody. The AI artwork appears visually unimpressive and lacks the depth, cultural value, and authenticity that traditional or student-created pieces can offer. Also dont the teacher and staff say ai is used to much in school and is having a negative effect on us?
More importantly, investing money into AI-generated art feels like an unnecessary expense, especially when those funds could have supported far more beneficial initiatives. This could include resources for learning programs, student wellbeing, creative arts subjects, or improvements to school facilities—areas that directly impact students’ education and experience.
Additionally, a far more meaningful and culturally respectful choice would have been to showcase Indigenous art. Indigenous artwork carries deep stories, connection to Country, and rich cultural significance. Including it within our school environment not only supports First Nations artists and communities but also promotes cultural learning and appreciation for everyone.
For these reasons, I strongly believe the AI artwork should be reconsidered and replaced with something that better reflects our school’s values, identity, and commitment to meaningful expression.
Thank you for taking the time to consider this matter.
