Keep Ms Waters with Ocean Air/DMUSD , for the success of various Science Programs at Ocean Air

Keep Mrs waters please!!!

As a former Ocean Air student, I honestly cannot imagine Ocean Air without Mrs. Waters. When teaching, it is so obvious to see her passions for science and helping others. Her energy and school spirit are so infectious. Mrs. Waters’ dedication toward Ocean Air and helping this school become so successful in Science Olympiad is truly so inspiring. She has so much experience and love for all of the clubs and programs that she helps the school run. I can say without a doubt that Mrs. Waters has positively impacted so many students’ lives at Ocean Air.

My kids are 3rd in OA. I read their works at Science Lab and quite impressive! I also visit the science lab several time during open house. I plan to enroll my kids to zoo club and garden club, even science Olympia when they get older. I am very satisfied what Ms Waters work so far. Please Do Not Change Anything! Please Keep Ms Waters in OA. Thanks! Lydia

I was a student at Ocean Air from 2009-2014, and I can attest that Ms. Waters is a wonderful teacher and her efforts played a significant role in sparking my pursuits in science, along with my journey to 2019 IPhO. Although I'm not the most informed about the current situation, I think her efforts towards promoting science is invaluable to the students at Ocean Air and the quality continues to be excellent today, as I observed from my brother's experience with Science Olympiad.

We have been highly impressed with Mrs Waters dedication to STEM. Mrs Waters is the single most important reason for the amazing performance of Ocean Air teams in the Science Olympiad competitions, where Ocean Air elementary kids compete against middle schoolers and bring home medals even at the state level. Ocean Air is regarded so highly among other elementary and middle schools for their Science Olympiad performance. Mrs Waters has been at the center of inspiring kids & parents, building a strong team of parent coaches that help train & motivate young kids in STEM. Please keep Mrs Waters so she can continue her work that has brought so much STEM focus among Ocean Air kids, and such good reputation for Ocean Air school in the San Diego community.

I am not sure what would be the future of USA if we keep eliminating teachers' positions from schools. We need all of our teachers to create a formidable future for USA. STEAM+ goes a long way to create technology prowess that USA has been known for over the decades. Ms Waters at Ocean Air is among those who are infusing passion, igniting curiosity for STEAM+. Whether it is a normal working day or after school hours or holidays, she is continuously, tirelessly working with a smile on her face to lead all science programs at Ocean Air. When I asked her if she can help in one more competition for computer science, she was more than willing to help despite under immense work load. She is a true champion of STEM who is ready go mile after mile for sake of better future for our kids. Even though my daughter would graduate from Ocean Air this year and would go to middle school next year, I would plead to Mr. Stanley, administrators to reinstate Ms. Waters in her position as she has done immense good and continue to do so for our community.

Ms.Waters is true educator caring about kids from her heart. I was very impressed how much she loves students and she is very well equipped to do effective STEM education. I strongly request to keep Ms.Waters for kids' education.

Cannot imagine Ocean air w/o Science program and Ms. Waters is integral part of it.

As a former Science Olympiad coach and father of an Ocean Air graduate, I have personally witnessed Ms. Waters' dedication and leadership. She has been a valuable contributor to making Ocean Air a great school.

Mrs. Waters worked hard for science program of Ocean Air elementary school. We can not forget her devotion to Science Olympiad and all science activities. Our family hope that she can continue work at Ocean Air school.

We have worked with Ms.Waters for the past 8years and have volunteered in many events she organized and have lovrd the opportunities that my children got..... Not only did they get curious about science but also volunteers to teach other kids. We are so blessed for the opportunities.

Ms. Waters has been synonymous with the high caliber of OA Elementary School. It doesn't reflect well on the DMUSD bureaucracy to unilaterally force retirement of an experienced, competent, and beloved teacher.

Mrs. Waters is one of the standard bearers as to the value and impact that STEAM + and Science has had not only on our school but the entire district. Both of my children have benefited over the years in their respective educational development because of the stewardship of Mrs. Waters. I, personally, have had the pleasure and honor to work directly with Mrs. Waters as the DMSEF Chairman and President for 6 years and as her parent classroom volunteer for all of her Science classes K-6, this year. I am committed to assisting you in whatever we need to do to maintain her.

It seems like an irrational decision, very frustrating and sad. Parents like me who have volunteered in her Lab have witnessed her organizational and leadership skills, She is the perfect coach and teacher for our kids. Both my boys enjoyed every science class and always look forward to it. She puts her heart and soul into each program , always incorporating suggestions from students and parents to improve these programs. In one instance , when my son and his team were struggling with their build event she is not only connected my son and his partner to another teacher from east coast to get guidance about the particular build event, but when she found out that this coach (from east coast) was visiting southern California, she invited him to come to ocean air to help our team, she hosted the coach and his family at her home for that weekend. This goes on to show her commitment and passion for our students success. There are numerous such examples , which can be seen from the outpouring of feedback here from other parents. It would be an huge loss for our school if we lose her. Our science programs are what differentiates Ocean Air school from other schools. the district should look at ways to expand such good programs. It’s beyond frustrating to hear such decisions.

Ms. Waters is wonderful teacher. I really appreciated her dedication and efforts for our kids.
