Ridiculous what is happening to Kate Smith's Statue! Bring it to Wildwood, a City that would treat her with RESPECT!

I am appalled that the FLYERS would do this to a female American hero! Kate Smith & other tv personalities were only performers of these songs they didn’t even write them! Ray Henderson & Lew Brown wrote these songs for a long-standing vaudeville show called George White’s Scandels! As a matter of fact those very writers are in the Grammy & Song writers Halls Of Fame which is even more enigmatic! Kate Smith rose to the ranks of icon status during a time of male dominated tv & radio performers who often shamed her about her weight! So In a generation of ME2 & woman’s liberations groups that I don’t hear a peep from it amazes me that a woman like Kate Smith who won the Presidential medal of freedom, had an image on a stamp, donated countless hours to sick & orphaned children! She also traveled around the world the equivalent of 6 times to perform for our troops as well as raising hundreds of millions of dollars in war bonds for World War II, Korea & Vietnam Wars! Smith called for racial tolerance in 1945 in an address on CBS Radio, saying, "Race hatreds, social prejudices, religious bigotry, they are the diseases that eat away the fibers of peace." She went on to say that it is up to us to tolerate one another in order to achieve peace. Why is it she gets blamed for this & the writers of those songs, their employers CBS, NBC (Comcast) & RCA the very companies who gave her a job & platform to sing those songs escape any blame! They could have easily just said no & dropped them from the play lists because they controlled the content not the performers!

Being Kate to Wildwood...and if they don’t release the original statue, we could chip in and have a copy of her erected. She is a true American and not a Racist as they are portraying her out to be.

We love hearing Kate's recording of "God Bless America" played when we go bike riding on the Boardwalk. Her Statue would be a most welcome atrraction.
