When I went to wildwood every year, Kate Smiths' God bless America was part of it. That statue should be in a place that gives this lady the respect she truly deserves and wildwood is defiently the place

My family and I have been going to Wildwood all our lives. We love hearing God-bless America played on the Wildwood boardwalk. If you haven't experienced this for yourself. Come to Wildwood at 11:00 a.m. in the morning. You will leave with a sense of pride in your country .And that's for ALL AMERICANS...
I would like to personally thank the mayor of Wildwood. Finally a politician listening to his community...
GOD BLESS ALL AMERICAN'S!!

The Flyers will not "cave". The statue will be put away and hidden by the corporate elites of Comcast who finally found the error of their ways after 32 years. It's amazing that countless numbers of people passed by statue without any ill effects. Shame on them and the Flyers for erasing their own history. Actions like this are the greatest single threat to the future of our democracy. But, the Mayor of Wildwood has struck a chord. The people have responded in his favor. If the original statue is not "released" the City of Wildwood" should commission a new statue of Kate Smith to be erected and displayed for all to see. And on the plaque, the real history of Kate Smith should be told. Her patriotism is without question. AND, the current story of why the statue is there should also be told. It would stand as a reminder for all to see what happens when political correctness replaces common sense. Good luck to all. And.... God Bless America

I want to see Kate Smith’s legacy to be preserved, and the American Legion in Wildwood will do her justice.

So disappointed that not one of the only men who won the Stanley Cup all those many years ago would now stand up for Kate - they were quick to take her help in those winning years! SO SAD

Lets avoid over.reaching,knee.jerk reactions which treat dark skinned people as lesser beings who need to be protected and coddled. That's just another form of racism.
