I went to the washburn Tech Culinary Program my senior year of high school. I was able to complete the program in a year and go on to Washburn and get my associates degree. The program gave me the tools I needed to start my own catering Business and succeed as a chef. I wouldn’t be were I am today without the program and Chef Matt’s help in particular

I’m a cosmetologist in training and funding is the only way it’s possible. If you get rid of the funding for trade programs the economy will crash.

This program is changing my sons life..it's allowing him to focus on a skill he is passionate about and excelling at it earlier so that he's ready to go into the work force straight from high school. You would be doing a great dis-service by taking away these programs. This tech experience in high school gives students a confidence they need earlier in life to be focused and driven to get into society as an adult and start contributing. I beg you to reconsider.

These are valuable programs for the livelihoods of those who take them. That loss is not worth the money saved.

This isn’t right, high school students deserve the opportunity to attend tech school to figure out what they want to do, it is completely unreasonable to take away an option for students to do better with their life
