Dear St James Church Kindergarten principals and teachers,
Hope you are having a good day. We parents of the Rainbow year have received news that the children will not be participating in the Graduation Concert this year.
You would have probably deliberated on this for a while and have your reasons for doing so; however we urge you to reconsider your decision by engaging in us, interested parents to see if we can find a solution.
Do hear us out, these are our thoughts:
- We would love the children to have an amazing opportunity to bond and create beautiful memories preparing and performing in the concert.
- The K1 children who are more introverted, can use this year as a rehearsal year for their graduation concert next year.
- The parents are happy to volunteer our time, hands and hearts in any way possible to make this happen.
We would be grateful if the concert would be held, even in a smaller capacity.

Seeing so many other families rally behind this concert makes me realize just how much these memories truly matter to us. We have enough momentum now to show the school that this is about the children and their shared experience.

I think the k1& k2 annual concert is one of the best tradition that SJCK has over the years. I hope the school management can reconsider that. And a CD definitely cannot replace the benefits of a getting our children to prepare a stage performance.
Hi agree with all the parents! K1 and K2 concert is the most awaited moment in their kindergarten life and also to us parents . It may not be as a fabolous venue as the K2 but at least give them an opportunity to perform at their level. I had a P2 student now who’s from st James ( Harding ) I saw the delight in their faces after doing the K1 and K2 concert . It was a big and once and a lifetime experience. Please don’t take it away from my second boy !
Pls reconsider reinstating the 2018 K1 year end concert as it’s a good exposure for the kids to be able to perform in public. Not every kid has the opportunity to do that, be it at after school enrichments or in school. If cost is the issue, an in-house performance will do just fine, just like the one they did during Dew Drops. Thank you.
As dad of twins Faith and Olivia of (RB4 and RB5), I was looking forward to their participation at the concert this year. Let us not disappoint them.
Hope we can please reinstate the participation for our K1 kids. SJCK is famed for its end-year concerts and is one of the reasons why we enrolled. The decision to discontinue K1 participation is indeed disappointing

I thought the concert was such a great opportunity for my elder Son to pick up non typical classroom skills ... and I would love for my younger sons to both have as much exposure to such performing skill sets as well, not just in the K2 year only. Hope you can reconsider reinstating this, we would be more than happy to chip in the cost of booking a venue. Thank you!
