I can see giving time because he was there when he lost his life, but if he wasnt the one that did it then not life for him.

I am a teacher, I went to school first to be a juvenile probation officer. Justin was a child at the age of this crime 19. The brain development for a human being is 23. I chose not to be a probation for this exact reason, I am not saying taking someone's life is right, but I feel that at young ages there needs to be different sentencing. And better rehabilitation Thank God for Angola, LA for what the warden is doing we need to do this in juvenile halls the kids need to go to local hospice's to see if this changes the kids because the juvenile's go in and out all the time because of not good programs.

My husband and I watched Serving Life last weekend and Justin's story has been in my thoughts ever since. I have worked in a large county jail in Washington State for almost two decades and am not often moved by the stories I hear and cases I become familiar with. However, I find the sentencing structure responsible for Justin's sentence in Louisiana extremely harsh, unjust and completely lacking in common sense. How can someone that didn't commit a murder be subject to the same sentence as the person that actually did? As a first time offender Justin deserves a second chance. We all make mistakes in youth, some have more life-altering impact than others, but for the minimal role Justin played in the crime that led to his conviction he has already served enough time!

I just saw Serving Life, too, as did many of the others on this petition. I believe in repaying a debt to society, and believe that he has done that. To keep him in prison seems to be unduly harsh and unnecessarily expensive, too, since he has shown his ability to be a tax-paying, law abiding. contributing member of society.

Wow his story is astonishing. I am a forensic scientist and this punishment just blows my mind. Guilty by association should not apply when life/death sentences are involved. They should judge sentence by degree of involvement. Please,please, send him my regards. I will keep him in my thoughts. I can only imagine how him and you as a family can be feeling. My thoughts.

I have looked into Justin's story. I am a newly graduated forensic scientist and have written multiple research projects about unfair /extreme pumishment. Guilty by association so to speak. I believe in his cause and will help by signing this petition. Another suggestion, write to congress to request a pardon or the innocents project to request information. This will take multiple attempts but don't give up.

Let this man go, he is innocent and has served his time. It costs millions of dollars to keep them locked up, lets save that for the real criminals!
