Sparkles was my favorite campus cat an I and absolutely devastated, I cared about him like my own cat, if I could’ve brought him home without any problems I would’ve. He meant the world to me and I want to see FIU update these policies because no sweet boy like Sparkles should have been taken from us so soon.

I've seen several times people walk their dogs unleashed in the area that Sparkles hung out. Each of those times, the dogs would chase the cats in an aggressive manner. I've been seeing typa thing happen for over 3 years now... this could have been avoided :(

I am an FIU alumni and seeing the campus cats were always my favorite part of the day. I hope new rules are put in place and enforced for their safety.

Rest in peace, Sparkles. As a new pet owner, with my little one only four months old, it’s heartbreaking to hear about this. FIU’s pet policies really need to be stricter; they shouldn’t be allowing unleashed, untrained pets on campus without proper oversight. Background checks on ESA letters are so important to ensure the safety of all animals. This isn’t about being rude; it’s about preventing situations like this from happening again.
