Fully agree with Jay, reinstate the full quota and let us earn our livelihood. This is a well managed and completely sustainable fishery.

Half the fishing season left and no quota available anywhere, want to keep working but can't justify going to work and throwing back the most valuable product out there. Fish shops are fuming no trout for their customers till next year I guess China will have to get it all instead.

Been trying to buy or lease quota for my own fishing needs now for the last couple of seasons but having to stop fishing season short as not to have to release trout, very frustrating knowing my own quota is being culled but fees stay the same and not being able to target trout let alone get enough quota for by catch bloody joke, Australian icon fish and no quota available to fish.

Consumers are the biggest group in the population and yet politicians favour the rec fishermen who do not feed the masses and they contaminate the waterways and fish farms. Epic Fail!!!!

I believe the quota should not be reduced for the 2017-2018 year but increased. As at end of January 2017 we have been trying to obtain more quota to get through the 2016-2017 year, which we can't find and other fishermen have been in contact with us looking for quota to lease. There is supposed to be 35% of CT quota left, but whoever has it is not leasing it out.

I don't believe the quota should be reduced for the 2017-2018 year if anything it should be increased as come end of January 2017 and we can't find quota to lease for the rest of the 2016-2017 year, and others in the industry have been contacting us for our quota.

I don't believe we should reduce the fishing quota as the seasons end nears boats are getting tied up because the don't have any quota left and the demand for the product is still there

Our fisheries can no longer afford big business mentality. Or gold rush mentality cowboys. We need long term security without the threat of investment warnings hanging over our heads.
